The Slido alternative for when the quiz is the main event

What is Slido?
Slido is an audience interaction tool for live Q&A, polls and quick quizzes, founded in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2012. Cisco completed its acquisition in May 2021, and Slido is now part of Webex by Cisco. Participants join in a browser at slido.com with an event code, a QR code or a link, or inside PowerPoint, Google Slides, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Webex; Slido retired its participant mobile apps on March 30, 2026. It is best known for upvoted, moderated Q&A, while its quiz is simple: multiple choice, a 20-second default timer, speed-based ranking and a top-5 leaderboard.
Best for: Meeting hosts, event organizers and enterprises that need moderated Q&A and polls inside their presentation or video-call tools, with an occasional simple quiz.
Why people look for a Slido alternative
- The free plan allows 3 polls and 1 quiz per slido, with up to 100 participants.
- Slido doesn't accept monthly payments: you buy a year up front or pay per event.
- Prices climb steeply with audience size: 200 participants on Engage ($210 a year), 1,000 on Professional ($900) and 5,000 on Enterprise ($2,400).
- Participant caps count every device that joins during the event, not just the people connected at the same time.
- The quiz feature is basic — multiple choice with a top-5 leaderboard — and reviewers say it lacks a game-show feel.
Where Quizzo is better
A full quiz game
Quizzo awards 500–1,000 points per correct answer depending on speed, shows an answer chart and top-5 leaderboard after every question, and ends on a podium with confetti. Built-in music and sound effects keep the room's energy up.
Monthly billing, no event fees
Pay $9 for the month you need, then cancel. Slido sells only annual plans or one-time event plans from $60.
Room for 500 players
Every Quizzo game takes up to 500 players. Slido's annual business Engage plan stops at 200 per slido; more means Professional at $900 a year.
Big one-off events cost less
A company quiz for 300 people needs Slido's Professional event plan at $240. On Quizzo it costs $9 for the month.
Where Slido is better
Audience Q&A and polls
People submit and upvote questions, with moderation and labels on Professional and up, alongside polls, ratings, word clouds and surveys. Quizzo has quizzes only.
Inside your meeting tools
Slido runs inside PowerPoint, Google Slides, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and natively in Webex, so nobody leaves the meeting. Quizzo has no meeting-app integrations; you share its game screen instead.
Enterprise scale and security
Paid plans reach 5,000 participants per slido, with SSO, SCIM and a HIPAA option on Enterprise, backed by Cisco.
Free plan and teacher pricing
The free plan covers 100 participants with unlimited Q&A, and teachers get 500 participants per slido for $84 a year — less than twelve months of Quizzo.
Slido pricing vs Quizzo
As of October 2026, Slido's US prices are Engage at $17.50/month (200 participants per slido), Professional at $75/month (1,000, two users) and Enterprise at $200/month (5,000, three users), all billed annually; Slido doesn't accept monthly payments. One-time plans for a single event of up to 7 days cost $60, $240 or $1,000, and education plans start at $7/month billed annually ($84 a year) for 500 participants. Prices differ by region — Engage is €15 a month in Europe. Quizzo is $9/month for up to 500 players, billed monthly. A teacher on Slido's education Engage plan pays less over a full year than twelve months of Quizzo; for business use, one-off events and groups above 200, Quizzo usually costs much less.
Should you switch from Slido to Quizzo?
Keep Slido if your sessions revolve around audience questions — moderated Q&A, quick polls and surveys inside PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom or Webex — or if you need enterprise sign-on and audiences in the thousands. Choose Quizzo when the quiz is the point: a full game with speed points, an answer chart, leaderboard and podium for up to 500 players, paid month to month at $9 instead of a yearly plan or a per-event fee. You can also use both: Slido for Q&A and Quizzo for the quiz segment.
