Kahoot vs Blooket: which classroom game should you use in 2026?
Kahoot and Blooket are both free to start, need no student accounts and get a game in front of your class within minutes, so teachers often weigh one against the other. The real split is the style of play: Kahoot runs one quiz show for the whole room, while Blooket drops each student into arcade-style game modes. This page compares how they play, what they cost and how many students each allows.

Kahoot vs Blooket: key differences
Game style
A Kahoot is one quiz show: the question appears on the big screen, everyone answers before the timer runs out, and points go to fast, correct answers. Blooket wraps a question set in arcade modes like Gold Quest, Crypto Hack, Battle Royale and Claw Mania, so each student plays through a game and chance can change who wins.
What's on the screens
Blooket shows the questions and answer choices on each student's device while the game plays out. Kahoot puts the question on the shared screen and, by default, only colored answer shapes on devices, unless the host turns on the free questions-on-devices setting.
Player limits
Blooket allows 60 players free and 300 on Plus; Racing and team modes have their own limits. Kahoot allows 40 free on K-12 teacher accounts (10 on others), then 50, 100 or 200 on Bronze, Silver and Gold, and 800 on Kahoot! One.
Question types and AI
Blooket supports multiple choice (several correct answers allowed), typed answers and, on Plus, audio questions; it has no built-in AI generator, but Khan Academy's free Khanmigo tool creates sets that export into Blooket. Kahoot offers 13+ question types plus slides, and AI quiz generation from topics, PDFs and web pages on paid plans.
Monthly or annual billing
Blooket lets teachers pay month to month with Plus Flex at $9.99. Kahoot's teacher plans are annual-only; monthly billing exists only on personal plans, from $9 a month.
Kahoot vs Blooket pricing
As of October 2026, Blooket Plus costs $4.99/month billed annually ($59.88/year), and Plus Flex costs $9.99/month with no commitment; both raise the cap from 60 to 300 players and add Plus-only modes, enhanced reports and homework deadlines of up to 365 days. Schools can buy seat-based group plans, reported at $550/year for 10 seats up to $3,000/year for 80. Kahoot teachers pay up front for the year: $36 for 50 players (Bronze), $84 for 100 (Silver), $144 for 200 (Gold) or $228 for 800 (Kahoot! One). Kahoot Bronze is the cheapest paid option at $36 a year, but for 300 students Blooket Plus ($59.88) costs far less than Kahoot! One ($228), and only Blooket lets teachers pay month to month.

Or pick Quizzo if…
- you run live, game-show style quizzes and want one simple price: $9/month, billed monthly
- your groups are big — up to 500 players per game
- players should be able to read every question on their own phone (large rooms, hybrid and video calls)
- you don't need homework, self-paced or presentation features
Our verdict
Kahoot is the better live quiz show; Blooket is the better game arcade for younger students' review. If luck mechanics or off-task play worry you, Kahoot's straight accuracy-and-speed scoring is easier to manage; if variety keeps your class engaged, Blooket's modes win, and its free plan is more generous at 60 players. For adult groups and events that want a pure knowledge-and-speed quiz, Quizzo is another option at $9/month, billed monthly, for up to 500 players.
