Mentimeter vs Slido: key differences

  • Deck builder vs add-on

Mentimeter is built around its own editor, where you create the whole presentation and mix content slides with polls, word clouds, Q&A and quizzes; it also offers a PowerPoint add-in and Teams and Zoom apps. Slido is designed to sit on top of what you already present — PowerPoint, Google Slides, Teams, Zoom or Webex — so you keep your own slides.

  • Audience Q&A

Q&A is Slido's signature: even the free plan includes unlimited audience Q&A, and Professional adds moderation, labels and replies. Mentimeter has Q&A slides as well, with moderation on its Pro plan.

  • How the free plans run out

Mentimeter counts participants across your whole account: 50 per month, with one session a month allowed to go over. Slido resets with each event (a 'slido'), allowing 100 devices but only 3 polls and 1 quiz each time.

  • Quizzes

Mentimeter quizzes offer select-answer and type-answer questions, speed scoring from 500 to 1,000 points and a top-10 leaderboard, with up to 2,000 concurrent players on quiz slides. Slido quizzes are multiple choice only, with a 20-second default timer, speed-based ranking and a top-5 leaderboard.

  • Audience size and pricing model

Mentimeter charges per presenter, and its paid plans have no audience cap outside quiz slides. Slido prices by audience: 200 participants on Engage, 1,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise (500 on education Engage), counting every device that joins during the event.

Mentimeter vs Slido pricing

As of October 2026 (US prices), Mentimeter Basic costs $11.99 and Pro $24.99 per presenter per month, billed yearly ($143.88 and $299.88); education versions cost $8.99 and $14.99, and Small and Large Conference plans cost $350 and $750 for one month. Slido Engage costs $17.50 a month billed annually ($210/year for 200 participants), Professional $75 ($900/year, two users, 1,000 participants) and Enterprise $200 ($2,400/year, three users, 5,000); education plans start at $7 a month ($84/year, 500 participants), and one-time event plans cost $60, $240 or $1,000 for up to seven days. Neither offers monthly billing in most markets, and both set prices by region. Teachers pay less on Slido, business presenters with large audiences usually pay less on Mentimeter, and Slido's $60 pass is the cheapest way to cover one event.

Choose Mentimeter if…

  • you want to build the whole presentation, not just add polls to it
  • you need word clouds, scales, ranking or 2x2 grids alongside your content
  • your audiences are large and you'd rather pay per presenter than per attendee
  • you want quizzes with typed answers and a top-10 leaderboard
  • you present to small groups and 50 participants a month is enough

Choose Slido if…

  • audience Q&A with upvoting is the main thing you need
  • you want to keep presenting from PowerPoint or Google Slides, or inside Teams, Zoom or Webex
  • your company already runs on Cisco Webex
  • you need to cover a single event for $60
  • you need participant SSO or a HIPAA option at enterprise level

Or pick Quizzo if…

  • you run live, game-show style quizzes and want one simple price: $9/month, billed monthly
  • your groups are big — up to 500 players per game
  • players should be able to read every question on their own phone (large rooms, hybrid and video calls)
  • you don't need homework, self-paced or presentation features

Our verdict

Choose Mentimeter when the interaction is the presentation: it builds full decks, offers more slide types and suits large audiences on per-presenter pricing. Choose Slido when you want to keep your own slides or meeting tool and mainly need Q&A and quick polls, especially in Webex or for one-off events. If your session is really a competitive quiz rather than Q&A, a dedicated game such as Quizzo ($9/month, billed monthly, up to 500 players) fits that job better.
