A Factile alternative where every player answers at once

Factile turns review sessions into Jeopardy: teams pick clues from a board and race to buzz in. Quizzo takes the Kahoot approach instead — every player answers every multiple-choice question on their own phone, speed earns points, and up to 500 players fit on one $9/month plan. Here's how the two compare as of October 2026, including where Factile is the stronger and cheaper choice.

What is Factile?

Factile is an online Jeopardy-style game maker from Solis Creative, LLC in Massachusetts. It started out as Jeopardy Rocks, took the Factile name in 2017 and says it has more than 2 million users, with no ads on free or paid plans. Hosts build a board of categories and point values and show it on a projector or screen share; teams choose clues, and on paid plans players buzz in from their phones at playfactile.com/join. The same question set can also be played as multiple choice, memory, flashcards or a self-paced game.

Best for: Teachers, trainers and trivia hosts who want classic Jeopardy-style review games with phone buzzers and team play for very little money.

Why people look for a Factile alternative

  • The free plan is tight: 3 custom games, 5 teams, no buzzer mode and no media or extra play modes.
  • Buzzers, media and the other modes need a paid plan, and the cheapest one (Basic, $48) is yearly-only.
  • In buzzer play only one team answers at a time, and the host judges each spoken or typed answer.
  • Board play depends on a projector or screen share, since the classic setup shows the board and clues on the host's screen.
  • AutoGen, Factile's AI game generator, costs extra on top of any plan, and the add-on price isn't published.

Where Quizzo is better

  • Everyone plays every question

In Quizzo, every player answers each question at the same time on their own phone. On Factile's buzzer board, one team answers at a time while the others watch.

  • Automatic scoring with speed points

Quizzo scores every answer instantly, from 500 to 1,000 points depending on speed, and shows an answer chart and top-5 leaderboard after each question. Factile's board relies on the host to judge answers.

  • 500 players, no team setup

Each Quizzo game takes up to 500 individual players who join with a PIN or QR code. Factile caps games at 100 teams, so large groups have to be split into teams.

  • Full question on every phone

Quizzo always shows the question and all answers on players' devices. In Factile, the classic game is read from the shared screen, and buzzer mode shows the question on phones only if the host picks that setting.

  • Turkish interface

Quizzo's host and player screens are in Turkish and English. Factile supports eight languages, including Spanish, German and Arabic, but not Turkish.

Where Factile is better

  • Real Jeopardy-style play

Factile has a board of categories and point values with Daily Double, Double Factile and Final Factile, plus a buzz-in race with a visible buzz order. Quizzo has no board or buzzers.

  • Lower prices

Basic is $48 a year, Plus $72 and Business $90, all below a year of Quizzo ($108). Month to month, Plus costs $7.95.

  • Teams and more modes

Factile supports multi-member teams with in-app chat, typed or spoken answers, and multiple choice, memory, flashcard and self-paced modes from one question set, plus printable answer keys.

  • Content and classroom tools

Factile offers a public library of more than 2.5 million games, CSV/Excel/Google Sheets import, question banks, Google Classroom and AI generation from a topic or PDF (at extra cost).

Factile pricing vs Quizzo

As of October 2026, Factile's free plan covers 3 custom games and 5 teams in classic mode, without buzzers. Home/School Basic costs $48/year (yearly only) and unlocks buzzers, every play mode and media for up to 100 teams; Home/School Plus is $7.95/month or $72/year, and Business is $9.95/month or $90/year. The AutoGen AI generator is an add-on at an unpublished price. Quizzo is $9/month for up to 500 players, billed monthly: every yearly Factile plan costs less than a year of Quizzo ($108) and Business month to month costs slightly more, so the real difference is the format, with everyone answering at once instead of teams taking turns on a board.

Should you switch from Factile to Quizzo?

Stay with Factile if you want classic Jeopardy-style review games with buzzers, Daily Doubles and team play, or if $48 a year suits your budget better than a monthly plan. Switch to Quizzo if you want every player answering every question at once with speed scoring and a podium, need to host more than 100 individual players, or want a Turkish interface.
