How Quizzo works
From a blank quiz to a cheering room in three steps.
- 1
Build your quiz
Write multiple-choice questions with 2–4 answers, add an image if you like and pick a timer between 5 and 120 seconds.
- 2
Players join in seconds
Show the 6-digit PIN or the QR code. Players open playquizzo.com/join on any phone — no app, no account, just a nickname.
- 3
Play live
Faster correct answers score more. After each question everyone sees the answer chart and the top 5; the game ends on a podium with confetti.
Everything a great live quiz needs
Quizzo does one thing — live multiplayer quizzes — and does it well.
Built for big rooms
Up to 500 players in a single game. Quizzo has been load-tested with 300 players answering every question at the same moment.
Questions on every phone
Players see the full question and all answers on their own screen, so the back row — and anyone on a video call — never misses a thing.
Game-show speed scoring
Correct answers earn 500 to 1,000 points depending on how fast they come in. Wrong answers earn nothing.
Leaderboards and a podium
An answer chart and a top-5 leaderboard after every question, then an animated 3-2-1 podium with confetti.
Music and sound built in
Lobby music, a ticking countdown and sound effects are generated in the browser, so there's nothing to license for your event.
Auto or manual pace
Click through at your own speed or switch on auto-advance and let the game run itself — you can change it mid-game.
Late joins and reconnects
Players can join after the game has started, and anyone who refreshes or loses signal rejoins with their score intact.
Moderation and saved results
Remove a player with an inappropriate nickname in one click. Results of every game are saved to your dashboard, even if a game is interrupted.
Images on any question
Upload a picture or paste an image link to turn any question into a picture round.

Frequently asked questions
What is Quizzo?
Quizzo is a live multiplayer quiz game that runs in the browser. A host shows questions on a big screen and players answer on their phones in real time, competing for points on a leaderboard. It's a simple, lower-cost alternative to Kahoot.
How much does Quizzo cost?
$9 per month for the host, billed monthly. There is one plan with every feature included, and you can cancel anytime. Players never pay.
Is there a free plan?
No. Instead of a limited free tier, Quizzo has a single $9/month plan with no locked features. Because it's billed monthly, you can subscribe for one event and cancel afterwards.
How many players can join one game?
Up to 500 players per game, and you can run as many games as you like.
Do players need an app or an account?
No. Players go to playquizzo.com/join (or scan the QR code), enter the 6-digit PIN and choose a nickname. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and laptops.
Can I run Quizzo over Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet?
Yes. Share your host screen in the call and players join on their phones. Because every phone shows the full question and answers, a laggy or tiny screen share doesn't spoil the game.
What kinds of questions can I create?
Multiple-choice questions with 2 to 4 answers and one correct answer, an optional image, and a time limit from 5 to 120 seconds. Other formats such as true/false, polls or typed answers aren't available yet.
Is Quizzo a good Kahoot alternative?
For live, game-show style quizzes, yes: PIN and QR joining, colorful answer buttons, speed-based scoring, leaderboards and a podium for $9/month with up to 500 players. If you need self-paced homework, a large public quiz library or AI quiz generation, Kahoot offers more.
Which languages does Quizzo support?
English and Turkish, for both hosts and players.
